My husband, Skyler, and I are gathering information to build our home out on our family's farm north of Marshall, IL. The property is about a half of a mile south of the Castle Finn Winery. We currently live in our "for now home" and are looking to build our forever home as we continue to grow our family. We are not ready to pull the trigger at this very second, but we are hoping to start in the next few years. Since we are relatively new to this process, we are trying our best to educate ourselves as to what to expect and put ourselves in the best position possible both mentally and financially for his process as this would be the house that we plan to remain in and raise our children in. We have drawn up a design that we like, have gone through the "Builders Guide", and have made lots of notes and had lots of discussions as to what we would like. We were hoping to have a meeting in the next couple of months to get an estimate and discuss what the process would look like.
