AVERY’S PLAN REVIEW 🏡

OK I LOOOOOVE this plan.

Lately I’ve had A LOT more clients say, “I want semi open, but I don’t want totally open.” History always repeats itself. Don’t forget that. 😂

This plan absolutely nails that balance, and it’s just under 1,700 square feet.

What I LOVE:
• A true foyer instead of walking straight into the great room
• Primary suite in its own wing with the kids/guest rooms separate
• Kitchen, dining and great room still connect, but each space feels defined
• Covered patio with really smart door placement
• GREAT garage entry with benches, lockers, a catch all desk and separate laundry
• If I’m an empty nester, one bedroom is the guest room and the other is absolutely my office

What I’d change:
• If we’re on a crawlspace, I’d use the basement stair area for a larger pantry and mechanical closet
• Grow the garage. You know I’m not building a two car garage smaller than 24' x 24'. Basically a sin. 😂
• I’m keeping the tub because I’m a tub girl. If you’re not, lose it and grow the vanity. Win win.

Past that, I LOVE it.

This is such a good example of why square footage isn’t everything. Good design matters.

Another electrical must have for me: fan controls on the wall. ⚡️ I cannot stand a ceiling fan remote. 😂They get set down, moved, buried in bedding, carried into another room, and somehow they are NEVER where you need them when you actually want to change the fan speed. Remote people, are you with me or completely against me on this one? 😂

WHAT I WON’T LIVE WITHOUT: Motion Sensor Lighting ⚡️ There are a few places in my house where I absolutely want motion sensor lighting. My pantry is ABSOLUTLEY one of them! Most of the time I’m going in or out of there with my hands full, so the last thing I want to do is hunt around for a light switch. I want to walk in, have the light come on, and have it shut off when I leave. It seems like such a little thing, but these are the details I notice every single day. When we’re doing electrical planning, I think it’s really important to think past just where the lights are going. How are you actually going to use that room? What would make it easier? Where would you put a motion sensor in your house?
